Suzy Schug’s Biography
Hello! I’m Ms. Schug, one of the 5th grade teachers at Hirsch Academy. This is my first year teaching at Hirsch, but is my 25th year teaching as an Arizona educator. I graduated from ASU with my Bachelor of Education degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in biology. I received my Master of Education degree from NAU, with an emphasis in children’s mathematics.
I love working with children and bringing out the best in their young minds. I am always a learner myself, as are all teachers, and never miss an opportunity to discover new topics alongside my students. My classrooms are always busy, happy, and interesting. I really love working here at Hirsch Academy because it’s a very team oriented environment, and the children are noticeably happy learners.
I love plants, animals, and the great outdoors. My favorite subject to teach is science. Science helps children develop key life skills, including the ability to communicate, remain organized, and form their own opinions. It teaches kids about the world around them!
Kids and education are my passion, and I’m grateful to call Hirsch Academy my home!
