Karen King’s Biography

Hello!  I am a 3rd Grade Teacher here at Hirsch Academy. I have been teaching for a total of 10 years, and at Hirsch for the past two years.  I have taught K, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade, but 3rd Grade is my passion!  

I love all the interesting conversations we have in the classroom.  It is a remarkable year for growth and learning.  We engage in a lot of hands-on activities, such as hatching chickens which is always a favorite Springtime activity!  I differentiate my teaching to meet the needs of each child.  I believe every child is unique and deserves a caring, inspiring, and engaging atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially.

I moved to Arizona 20 years ago from Washington DC.  I am married, have two daughters and two cats.  I love to read, cook and play racquetball.
